OVW TV #961: "Iron Man, Iron Turnbuckle"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, January 17, 2018. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 9PM, and online at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html. In this episode, LJ faces Randall Floyd in a 30-minute iron man match for the OVW TV Title, Michael Hayes causes chaos as usual, plus more!

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Big Zo defeats Shiloh Jonze. Zo tosses Shiloh across the ring twice. Shiloh goes off the ropes and runs into a brick wall. Zo slams him and hits the Are You Serious leg drop. Zo picks him up, but Shiloh rakes the eyes. He clubs Zo in the back. Zo comes back with a roundhouse kick. He goes for the Zo bomb, but Shiloh rolls out of the ring. He grabs a chair and gets in and hits Zo in the back, causing a DQ. It doesn't faze Zo. He punches it out of Shiloh's hands and Shiloh hightails it out of the ring.

Billy comes out with Aloicious Hamilton, BGB, Drew Thomas, and another new superstar and says they have not been able to find Houdini, and he knows Amon has him. He's tired of cat and mouse games, and if you know anything about him, he hates cats.
 Amon defeats Billy O. Amon comes out with the Void, but they brawl to the back with Billy's friends. Amon with the power and control early. Billy fights back and hits a superplex off the top rope, but Amon kicks out at 2. Amon fights back, hits the pedigree, and gets the 3.
After the match, the Void fights back out to the ring with Billy's friends, but Amon & the Void take them down and stand tall at the end.

OVW Women's Champion Jaylee (w/DL3 & Dustin Jackson) defeats Cali. The two exchange armbars. Jaylee takes Cali down for 2. Off the ropes, they double clothesline each other. Cali comes back with flying forearms and a dropkick. She misses a chick kick, and Jaylee plants her with her finisher for the 3.

Tony Gunn starts off the show dragging referee Charlene with him. He says Dean Hill is all about people making an impression. He tells Dean to send out the best he's got, because he is the best wrestler here...
Dapper Dan defeats "Shotgun" Tony Gunn. Gunn attacks Dan as he makes his entrance on the apron. He hits him on the outside and throws him into the ring post. He tries to pin after the bell rings to start the match for 2. He continues to club and kick Dan. He throws him in the corner and charges. Dan flips him over, Gunn lands on the apron, and Gunn shoulders him in the gut. He hits Dan's head off the top turnbuckle and goes up top. He hits a flying knee to the head. He goes for a vertical suplex, but Dan reverses. Dan hits Gunn with a side slam for 2. Dan goes for a German suplex, but Gunn drop toeholds him, and locks in a rear chinlock. Dan gets to the ropes for the break. Gunn clubs him and pulls down his kneepad. He jumps off the top, but Dan catches him and delivers a back body drop. Dan fires up, and splashes him in the corner. He hits a belly-to-back suplex. He hits the release German suplex and Gunn grabs the kendo stick. He hits Dan in the gut, causing a DQ.
KTD & BGB run out to try and stop Gunn, but Gunn hits both of them with the kendo stick. Dan is back up and drops Gunn and they brawl. The locker room sends pout several superstars and refs to try and break them apart.

Gilbert Corsey is about to interview Bud Dwight, when Michael Hayes attacks him from behind with a steel chair. Hayes hits him several times, then puts Bud's bad shoulder in the chair. He has a crowbar and starts calling for Dean Hill. Dean finally comes out, and asks what he wants. Hayes says he came here angry and wants Dean and everyone else to feel the way he does when he wakes up every day.
Houdini sneaks out from behind and hits Hayes, but Hayes locks the mandible claw on him and takes him down. This allows Bud to recover and get the chair off his arm.
He hits Hayes with Hayes' own move, the facebuster off the knee!

DL3 comes out with Dustin Jackson & Jaylee. He says a little birdie told him that Cardinal had an issue with him for eliminating him single-handedly at the Nightmare Rumble. He said that same birdie told him that he is here tonight and wants to fight, so come on out!
DL3 (w/Jaylee & Dustin Jacksondefeats "Cardinal". "Cardinal" is Dimes dressed as Cardinal. He takes a swing at DL3, DL3 ducks, and rolls Dimes up for the 3.
The real Cardinal then runs out and goes after Dimes & Dustin. He has DL3 cornered and picks him up, but Dustin takes out his knee. Cardinal flips Dustin out of the ring and DL3 retreats to the outside where Jaylee & Torey Payne are now fighting with one another. Cardinal sends DL3 an emphatic message by planting Dimes with his finisher.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE 30-MINUTE IRON MAN MATCH: "The Real Deal" Randall Floyd (c) defeats "The River City Dragon" Logan James. Randall takes his time by rolling out of the ring and arguing with the fans before getting back in. Some early back and forth mat wrestling between the two. LJ knocks Randall from the ring and goes to fly out. He holds up as Randall tries to uppercut him. He jumps on him, but Randall catches him and rams him into the steel stairs. He works LJ over for a bit on the outside. Back inside, LJ catches him with a kick and a hurricanrana. Randall back with a dropkick, and he pulls LJ's head down over the top rope. Randall pulls the top turnbuckle pad off of one corner. Randall goes up, but LJ kicks him in the face and Randall falls to the outside. LJ goes to fly out, but Randall moves. They both get up and back in at 9. They fight in the corner on the apron, and Randall hits LJ with a DDT on the apron! Randall throws him back in and locks in a submission. LJ breaks out with a chinbuster, and comes back with some flying forearms. Randall comes back with a suplex into the corner! Randall goes to the outside and wraps LJ's leg across the bottom rope. He goes up top and hits LJ with a double axehandle. He flings LJ across the ring and goes for the modified Boston crab. LJ rolls him up in an inside cradle for 2. Randall flings LJ across the ring again. He then stomps him on all his extremities. LJ tries another quick rollup for 2. LJ charges him in the corner, but Randall flips him over to the floor. Randall goes out after him. He hits LJ's leg off the side of the apron. They exchange blows in the center of the ring, and Randall catches LJ with a huge spinebuster for 2! Off the ropes, LJ connects with a big DDT. He then hits a slam off his shoulders for 2. LJ stomps him in the corner. They exchange blows again, but then Randall connects with the Deal Breaker for 2! LJ kicked out! Randall charges at him, but LJ flips him out to the floor and then dives out on him! He rolls him in, hits the frog splash, but Randall somehow kicks out at 2! LJ slams him, then grounds and pounds him. He goes up again, but this time, Randall moves! Randall hits another Deal Breaker, then another, and gets the 3! RANDALL GOES UP 1-0. LJ kicks at Randall and rolls him up for 2. He tries another rollup for 2. Off the ropes, Randall catches LJ by the foot and locks him in the crab. LJ reverses and locks in a Boston crab of his own, and Randall taps! LJ TIES IT 1-1. LJ locks the crab back in, but time expires. Dean Hill comes out and says it will not happen like this, we will have a winner, and this match is now in sudden death. LJ goes after Randall and rolls him in. He splashes him in the corner, then again, then a third time. He tries a fourth, but Randall moves, and LJ hits the exposed turnbuckle. Randall rolls him up with a handful of tights and his feet on the ropes for the 3 and the win!

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

"Livewire" KTD & "The Boy Wonder" Sam Thompson defeat Apollo "Showtime" Garvin & SK Eveslage. KTD hits Apollo and dropkicks him. Sam kicks him in the chin, then him & KTD hit Apollo with a double reverse hip toss. Sam gets hit in the throat and Apollo takes control. He rams Sam's head into SK's boot in the corner. Apollo then hits him with a fallaway slam. SK tags in and locks in a chinlock. Apollo tags back in and hits him. Sam kicks him inthe gut, but Apollo knees him in the face. SK tags in and misses an elbow drop. KTD gets the hot tag and he runs through SK and Apollo. Sam gets back in and hits a move on SK, and KTD super kicks him. KTD goes up top and delivers a top rope splash for the 3.

Kevin Giza (w/Adam Slade & Lukas Gibson) defeats William Lutz. Giza with a quick start. He hits a dropkick, hurricanrana, and "317". He goes to dive out on Lutz, but Lutz moves. Giza gets on the apron and goes for a kick, but Lutz grabs his foot and pulls him down. He kicks him in the back and charges him in the corner. Giza flips him over, but Lutz pulls his head down across the top rope. Lutz goes for a flying body press, but Giza moves. Off the ropes, Lutz catches Giza with a suplex. Lutz pounds him in the corner, and stomps him. He misses a reverse cross body off the ropes, and Giza hits a running knee to the face for 2. Giza goes up top, but Lutz knocks him down. He goes for a superplex, but Giza slides off, super kicks him in the face, then powerbombs him out of the corner for 2. Lutz catches him in the corner for a rolling slam, followed by a standing moonsault for 2. He goes for a top rope moonsault, but Giza moves. Giza connects with another running knee for the 3.
