OVW TV #926: "Stu Feels Jaded"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, May 17, 2017. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html. In this episode, Jade Dawson defends the OVW TV Title against Rev. Stu in a rematch from SNS, Shannon the Dude defends the "Radio Heavyweight Title", Gilbert Corsey interviews new Women's Champion Cali, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix defeats "Jaguar" Dre Blitz. Blitz gets some early offense, but Matrix comes back with a corner splash, pele kick, and hits the swanton bomb for the 3.

Big Zo defeats "Fearless" Jacob Black. Zo connects with the Zo train, a samoan drop, and the big legdrop, but Black kicks out at 2. Zo charges him twice in the corner, but Black kicks him both times. He leaps at Zo, but Zo catches him and powerbombs him for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/ovw-media.html.

Gilbert Corsey & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, and KC is the ring announcer.

"Bad Boy" Shane Andrews (w/"Bad Girl" Jessie Belle & "Double R Superstar" Randy Royal) defeats "The Headliner" Chris Michaels. Royal joins commentary. A good back and forth match. Shane hits a codebreaker for 2. Shane can't believe it and almost gets pinned in an inside cradle, but kicks out at 2. Michaels goes off the ropes and is tripped up by Jessie. He turns into a kick from Shane, and Shane hits a brainbuster for the 3.

Kevin Giza vs. LJ ends in a no-contest. LJ & Giza both start the match with fast-paced action, delivering kicks to each other's heads and making suicide dives out to the floor. LJ rolls Giza in and goes up top, but Daniel Eads gets in the ring. He delivers a superman punch to LJ, knocking him off the top rope to the floor. He then grabs Giza and delivers the Weight of the World to him...
Gilbert Corsey gets in the ring and asks Eads why he is causing this destruction. Eads feels like he was robbed at the SNS, because Danny Davis made the pin and he was not a licensed referee. He is an outsider, and not a golden boy like Big Jon.
Jon comes out and says Danny built this organization and this arena. He says besides, Eads brought the chair in the ring in the first place. Eads want a rematch, and Jon says Eads can bring anything he wants, a chair, a monkey wrench, his momma...
Dean Hill comes out and says that Danny is the founder and although no longer majority owner, there was no other ref, so the decision stands. However, there will be a rematch, and knows that Jon is a fighting champion. Eads can bring anything he wants, because for the OVW Heavyweight Title at SNS, it will be Jon vs. Eads II: No Holds Barred!

"The Trinidadian Titan" Justin Smooth defeats "American Warrior" Adam Slade. Smooth pretty much dominates this match, putting Slade away with the bicycle kick for the 3.

Gilbert Corsey brings out Cali and asks about how she feels as the new Women's Champion. Before she can answer, she is ambushed by Mickie Knuckles. Mickie throws her into the steel steps and then inside the ring, gives her a pumphandle slam.

Dapper Dan defeats Christian Hernandez. Dan controls most of this match with a lot of ground-and-pound and power moves. He puts Christian away with the Death Valley Driver.
After the match, he goes to hit Christian with the kendo stick, but Big Zo is out to confront Dan again. Dan looks like he is going to leave the ring, but as Zo turns his back, he attacks with the kendo stick.
Zo fights back and out of the ring to the back with Dan. Shannon the Dude gets up from commentary and says he is going to defend his Radio Heavyweight Title right now!
Shannon the Dude "defeats" Christian Hernandez. Shannon gets in to try and pick the leftovers. Hernandez confronts him, but gets ambushed from behind by Adam Revolver wearing a referee shirt. Shannon delivers the "STDDT" to Hernandez and Revolver counts the 3.
After the match, Tyler Matrix comes out on the phone and says he's not much for doing favors for the likes of Shannon & Revolver, but will do this one. He wants their match at the next SNS to be made official. Dean Hill comes out and takes the phone. It's Tony Vanetti on the line, and Dean says if he wants it, he's got it. At the next SNS, it will be Shannon & Revolver vs. Matrix & Vanetti! Dean says Shannon begged to work here, so he will have this match unless he wants to quit right here, right now! Matrix says June 3rd, they will enter the Lion's Den.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: Jade Dawson (c) defeats "The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stu. Stu controls early, delivering some healing, when Chace Destiny runs out and distracts him. This allows Jade to take control for a bit. Stu starts firing back again, and hits an atomic drop and delivers some more healing after Jade misses a top-rope legdrop. Chace gets a healing shot after getting on the apron. Little Damion runs out and gets a claw slam from Stu, but this allows Jade to roll him up from behind with a handful of tights for the 3.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

"The Bro Godz": Colton Cage & Dustin Jackson defeat "The Veteran Connection": Apollo & Raul LaMotta. The Veterans control most of the match working over Dustin, while switching out without tagging and distracting the ref. Dustin finally gets a hot tag to Colton. Colton comes in firing away, and tries to pin Raul. Apollo breaks the count, and Dustin comes back in. All 4 men are in, and the Veterans are going to ram the Bros into each other. The Bros shove them off. The Veterans stop themselves from running into each other, but the Bros both roll each of the Veterans up and get the 3.

As always, thanks for reading!
