OVW TV #896: "Psychadelic Super-Challenge"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, October 19, 2016. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Trevor Steele holds a wrestler's court with Houdini & Big Jon, Rocco Bellagio defends the OVW Heavyweight Title against Tyler Matrix, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stu Miles defeats Dapper Dan Van Zandt.
Stu takes Dapper down and locks in the cross arm submission, but Ringmaster comes out and interferes, causing a disqualification.
Ringmaster & Dan double-team Stu until Mexicutioner runs out to even the odds and send the Circus running.

Gilbert Corsey brings out The Assassin. Assassin unmasks and says that due to health issues, he is officially retiring from the ring.

Rebel & Callie defeat Maddie Max & Scarlet (w/Little Damion). Rebel hits the split-legged leg drop on Maddie for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey, Shannon the Dude, & Ron Hed are on commentary, and Ron is the ring announcer.

A table is set up in the ring and the roster spills out to ringside for "wrestler's court".
Trevor Steele comes out with a judge robe and says he is the law and order in OVW, and calls Big Jon & Houdini into the ring.
He then brings out the Legacy of Brutality, saying Josh Ashcraft will be the prosecutor, Hy Zaya will be the defense attorney, and Big Zo will be the bailiff.
Ashcraft brings the charges against Jon & Houdini, and Hy says that he enters a non-guilty plea based on insanity, because they must have lost their minds last week. Jon makes fun of Hy Zaya, saying he looks like an anemic Morgan Freeman. Hy says he is now entering a guilty plea on behalf of stupidity. Steele accepts the plea and says that Jon & Houdini will have a match tonight...against each other. The loser will be fired. He calls for a ref. Instead, he gets the return of Dean Hill.
Dean said he has been working on something big, and his announcement has been soured a bit by the mess he now has to clean up made by Steele over the last 2 weeks. He says that OVW will have its historic 900th episode in a few weeks, and he will be announcing a special main event for that show in the coming weeks. He says that starting with that episode and beyond, OVW will be filming in high definition! The next thing...the OVW TV Title will go back to being defended every week...starting next week. He tells Steele that he will be in a 6-man tag next with his new friends Hy Zaya & Zo, against Big Jon, Houdini, and a man he just hired. Out comes Randy Royal. Royal says he has something special for Steele tonight. Dean then says if Royal's team wins, Jon & Houdini will get a Southern Tag Team Title shot against the Legacy of Brutality at the November SNS.

"Double R Superstar" Randy Royal, Big Jon, & Houdini defeat Trevor Steele & "The Legacy of Brutality": Big Zo & "Hood Ninja" Hy Zaya (w/Josh Ashcraft). Hy & Zo both go crashing out of the ring. Houdini hits Steele with a stunner, Jon hits Steele with a big boot, and as referee Joe Wheeler gets Houdini & Jon out of the ring, Royal grabs a chain and knocks out Steele to get the 3.

Adam Revolver defeats Kevin Giza. Giza misses a flying body press, and Revolver hits the reverse Russian leg sweep into a pin for the 3.
After the match, Revolver goes to keep punishing Giza, but Rev. Stu Miles runs out. He says he knows Adam doesn't want to listen to him or the people, but he has one more person to talk to him.
Ted McNaler comes out and tells Adam he brought a gift. He hands Adam a bag. Adam pulls out some scratch-off tickets and Ted asks if he remembers playing those when they ran their totally legal gambling. Adam pulls out a mason jar and Ted says that is what they used to drink Grandpa's special rocket fuel out of where they had nights they won't remember. Adam pulls out an almost empty bottle of BBQ sauce, and Ted says sorry, he got hungry. He tells Adam that he needs to make a decision. Which curtain will he come out of? Will he be a loser or a champion? He says before he decides, there is one more thing in the bag. Adam pulls out an old jacket from their tag team as the Elite. Ted then turns and attacks Stu and Stu gets double-teamed.
Mexicutioner runs out to help, but Ted takes out his knee and they hit him with the Trailer Hitch.

Justin Smooth defeats Carlos Gabriel. Smooth puts Gabriel away with Street Justice.

OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: "The Show Stealer" Rocco Bellagio (c) defeats "The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix. Matrix is on fire for most of the match, connecting with the drive-by, a kick to the head, and a swanton bomb, but can't put Rocco away. Matrix goes for rolling thunder, but Rocco pops up and takes Matrix down with the Plunge for the 3.
As Rocco celebrates, Chris Silvio comes up on the monitors. He asks Rocco if he remembers his old friend. Since he has been gone, he hasn't gotten any phone calls or check-ins. He wants to come back and reclaim his title and officially challenges Rocco for the November SNS!

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

The Ringmaster (w/Dapper Dan Van Zandt, Scarlet, & Little Damion) defeats "The Prince of Angst" Jade DawsonJade looks like he is on the way to possibly securing a victory when Dapper Dan & Damion get involved. Jade knocks both of them away as Scarlet gets on the apron to distract the ref. Ringmaster sprays the green mist in Jade's eyes and hits a finisher for the 3.

As always, thanks for reading!
