OVW TV #862: "Ash-Crafting a Plan"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, February 24, 2016. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, the #19 spot in the Nightmare Rumble is up for grabs in a triple threat match, the #1 contendership for the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles is up for grabs, we learn more about Daniel Eades in his OVW TV debut, plus much more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Trevor Steele vs. Dapper Dan Van Zandt (w/Rook & the Ringmaster) ends in a no-contest. Steele is on a roll, hitting a big boot, and locks in the chicken wing submission. Rook & Ringmaster both jump in to interfere, but Steele hits Ringmaster and catches Rook off the ropes, slamming him onto Ringmaster. The ref throws the match out.

"The Chosen One" Mitch Huff defeats Nate Stone. Stone with some early offense, but Huff fights back and connects with the Athlete's Foot for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey, Shannon the Dude, & Ron Hed are on commentary, and Ron is also the ring announcer.

"Primetime" Robbie Walker defeats "The Technical Titan" Eric Locker & Tyler Matrix in a triple threat match to win the #19 entry spot in the Nightmare Rumble. Cool spot in this match where Matrix had Walker locked up from behind, but Locker came up behind both of them and hit a double german suplex. Late in the match, Matrix catches Locker with a kick to the head that knocks him out of the ring, but Walker rolls Matrix up from behind with a handful of tights to get the 3.

Gilbert Corsey interviews Marcus Anthony in the ring. Marcus says that he is a beast and was tamed by Pope. He said that Pope taught him to use his head, but Pope needs to use his head and stay out of his way. He blames Pope for the loss, and says he doesn't like being pinned. He says since Pope cost him his prize, that is why he took Pope's hall of fame ring.

Daniel Eades defeats "The Ladies' Man" Leon Shelly after hitting an overhead powerslam.
After the match, Gilbert Corsey interviews him and says the only thing we heard from Eades is "Give it back!" and then something about money. Eades says Mitch Huff didn't tell him that he was a professional poker player, and says that Huff took $10,000 from him. He says he lost his house, and wasn't able to buy Christmas gifts for his little girl this year. Huff comes out and says that the name of the game in poker is to take the opponent's money. Dean Hill comes out and says that he already has a full card for SNS, but will guarantee them that they will come out back-to-back in the Nightmare Rumble, and they can try to sort things out there.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "The Complete Athlete" Devin Driscoll (c) (w/Josh Ashcraft & Casey Reeves) defeats Ravishing Ronnie Roberts after hitting his finisher.

#1 CONTENDERSHIP for the OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLES:
"The Bad Boys Club": "Bad Boy" Shane Andrews & "Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (w/Jessie Belle) defeat Rump Thump & "The Party Starter" Bud Dwight. Rump gets a hot tag to Dwight, who takes both of the Bad Boys down and hits a party splash in the corner on Royal. Shane & Rump are fighting on the outside, and Shane shoves Rump into the ringpost. Jessie Belle distracts the ref as Dwight goes for the Hangover on Royal. Shane sneaks in and low blows Dwight. Royal hits the rolling slam, and Shane hits the frog splash for the 3 and the win.

Big Jon defeats "The Show Stealer" Rocco Bellagio by DQ. Jon hits a big boot and a side slam. He sets Rocco up for the chokeslam, but Devin Driscoll, Josh Ashcraft, & Casey Reeves run out and attack Jon.
Driscoll uses the TV Title on Jon and they leave him laying in the ring.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Casey Reeves defeats Houdini. Houdini hits some clotheslines and a spear, but Josh distracts the ref. Reeves is able to hit Houdini with a DDT for the 3. After the match, Reeves jaws with the fans, and the Assassin comes out and clotheslines him.

Jessie Belle defeats OVW Women's Champion Maria James & Hayley Shadows in a triple threat match after Maria hits the reverse DDT on Hayley, but Jessie runs in, kicks Maria out of the ring and steals the pin.

Ringmaster (w/Dapper Dan Van Zandt & Rook) defeats Rev. Stu Miles (w/Adam Revolver). Stu was on a roll, "healing" Ringmaster and Rook who had gotten on the apron. The ref was distracted by Adam & Dapper Dan fighting on the outside, which also distracted Stu. Ringmaster got his whip and clocked Stu in the head with it to get the 3.

As always, thanks for reading!
