OVW TV #840: "War Zone"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, September 23, 2015. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Randy Royal defends the OVW Television Title, Josh Ashcraft faces his former client Big Jon, we hear from General Pope and Chris Silvio, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Chosen One" Mitch Huff defeats "Bad Boy" Shane Andrews by DQ after Jessie Belle interferes by jumping on Huff's back as he was setting up for the super kick.

Josh Ashcraft & Trevor Steele come out and fake apologize about their actions and then Josh says to send out a lamb for slaughter.
Trevor Steele (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeats Wes Conners in a squash after hitting the pumphandle slam.

"The Party Starter" Bud Dwight defeats Elvis Pridemoore after hitting the Party Slam. After the match, Elvis has another fit, throwing a ladder and wheelchair from the backstage area.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey & Ron Hed are on commentary, and Hed is the ring announcer.

Rocco Bellagio defeats Tyler Matrix. Matrix gets in a few dropkicks, an enziguri, and some kicks, but Rocco comes back and hits the Rocco Bottom for the 3.
After the match, Bud Dwight runs out and hits Rocco and dropkicks him from the ring.

Backstage, Dean Hill tells Rev. Stu Miles & Adam Revolver that they will stay together as a team until they start winning and prove something to him. Stu tells Adam he is starting a bible study. Adam tears up Stu's paper and says he is not going to a stupid bible study.

"The Van Zandt Family Circus": Dapper Dan Van Zandt & the Ringmaster defeat "Wylde & Reckless": Adam Wylde & Robbie Walker by countout after Dan pulls down the top rope and Walker falls to the outside. Walker screams in pain as it seems that he hurt his leg or foot and can't get back in the ring before the 10 count.

Rev. Stu Miles comes out and thanks the OVW fans for their support and then invites Gilbert Corsey & Ron Hed to his bible study, saying there will be snacks. Adam Revolver comes out and says that no one cares about his snacks or his stupid bible study. Miles says Adam needs an "amen". The fans keep saying "amen" after everything Adam says, annoying him to leave.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (c) (w/Jessie Belle) defeats J. Best after attacking him on the outside and quickly hitting the Royal Treatment for the 3.
After the match, Royal congratulates Jessie Belle and brings out Shane Andrews. He also has a guitar brought out and says he and Shane worked on a song that they will sing, that they have worked on for the last week called "I Got Your Job, and He Got Your Girl".
Ryan Howe shows up on the monitor and has destroyed their locker room and then comes to the ring and attacks Royal & Andrews with a baseball bat.
Howe says he has to go to jail now, but it was worth it as he gets handcuffed and taken away.

A video from General Pope is sent in from TNA Impact Studios. Pope says that he still has a series of tests to put Private Anthony through, and until then, will pass on their #1 contendership for the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles. They will be back to teach the locker room about respect and become tag team champions.

Chris Silvio & Rocco Bellagio come out and talk about how they are going to take out Devin Driscoll & Bud Dwight respectively at the Saturday Night Special, and Silvio tells Driscoll their title match will be held under "Ultraviolent Rules".

Backstage, Trevor Steele & Josh Ashcraft are talking about Josh's match with Big Jon. In the background, we see Adam Revolver pull down a paper advertising Stu Miles' bible study. We then see Stu come through and hang another one up. We also see Scarlet sneaking out of a locker room with Leon Shelly sneaking out right behind.

Big Jon defeats Josh Ashcraft (w/Trevor Steele) by DQ after Steele interferes.
After the match, Eric Locker comes out while Steele is fighting with Jon and suplexes Josh. All 3 former War Machine members are fighting and have to be separated.
Dean Hill says they will have a triple threat match at SNS.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Rook & J. Best defeat Adam Revolver & Rev. Stu Miles by DQ after Revolver uses a chair on Best.

"Ultra Violent" Chris Silvio vs. Eric Locker goes to a time-limit draw in a tremendous back-and-forth match.

As always, thanks for reading!

  1. It's a shame Ryan Howe jumped in when he did. I would like to have heard Randy's song. It couldn't be any worse than
    Ryan's music.
