OVW TV #836: "Getting In Some-Howe"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, August 26, 2015. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Dean Hill clears up the tag title situation, Big Jon's anger continues to boil over, we hear from Eddie Diamond & Chris Silvio about their upcoming match at SNS, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The War Machine": Eric Locker & Trevor Steele (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeat Dre Blitz & Tyler Matrix.
The War Machine squash Blitz & Matrix and finish them off after Locker hits the German Suplex on Matrix as Steele delivers a pumphandle slam to Blitz for a double 3 count.

Devin Driscoll defeats "Bad Boy" Shane Andrews.
Driscoll dominates early with his size advantage. Shane goes after Driscoll's knees, dropkicking them, to take him down. Driscoll starts firing back and throws Shane in the corner, but runs into a boot. Shane goes up top, but when he leaps off, Driscoll jumps up and catches him with a cutter for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey & Timmy Danger are on commentary, and Shannon the Dude is the ring announcer.

Eddie Diamond is out first and says that everyone saw what he did to Chris Silvio last week, he made him tap. At the September Saturday Night Special, he will dissect him limb by limb. He'd rather not walk, than not walk out champion.

Jade Dawson defeats Mohamad Ali Vaez.
Ali controls early, but Jade keeps reversing Ali's moves into pinfall attempts. Ali comes back with a neckbreaker, but Jade kicks out. Ali hits his double underhook DDT, but Jade kicks out. Ali hits another neckbreaker, but again Jade kicks out! Jade rallies and hits a neckbreaker of his own and gets the 3.

Rump Thump is on video saying he dropped in and has good news. He got off the phone with his doctor this morning and found out that he's all clear and ready to go. So he has decided to call out the biggest and baddest OVW has to offer.

Backstage, Josh Ashcraft is being asked by Eric Locker & Trevor Steele where their title shots are like Josh got for Big Jon. Josh says he didn't actually get anything for Jon, he just told him that for now. He tells Locker & Steele that he got them a tag title shot at SNS. Big Jon comes in angry again and tells Josh he is sick of this as he bangs his hand off the lockers.

Big Jon (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeats Rump Thump.
Jon is on a mission and dominates Rump early. Rump comes back with a little offense and delivers 2 double axehandles off the top rope. He goes for a third, but Jon catches him and chokeslams him for the 3.
After the match, a still angry Jon chokeslams Rump a second time. Jon then grabs referee AJ, but Josh tells him not to, so he doesn't get fired.

Adam Wylde comes out and wants answers. The two people he thought he could trust and had his back, both superkicked him in the face last week. Robbie Walker comes out and apologizes. Mitch Huff comes out and apologizes, but still wants to go after Robbie.
Dean Hill comes out and explains to Mitch that last week's contest was considered a draw, so Robbie is still champion. However, he is giving him an opportunity tonight to take the TV Title from Randy Royal, and he hopes he does. He says there is also a 4-corner "Tag Team Roulette" match at SNS, where Wylde & Reckless and the War Machine are already in. He tells Mitch that he can also enter and pick any partner he wants and to choose wisely. As for the 4th team, there will be a battle royal next, where the final 2 competitors must team to compete in the tag title match...
As the battle royal gets started, Big Jon comes out and starts tossing people out. Josh Ashcraft runs out and yells at him, asking what he is doing.
Jon shoves him down and goes to the back shoving through Eric Locker & Trevor Steele, who came to ringside. Back inside the ring, the only 2 competitors remaining are Rev. Stuart Miles and Adam Revolver. They must team together at SNS.

Shannon the Dude interviews the OVW Heavyweight Champion Chris Silvio. Silvio says he will be the one to walk out of SNS, still champion, and that he is today's superstar. He gets interrupted by Devin Driscoll.
Driscoll says he just got out of Dean Hill's office and found out he is the new #1 contender. He actually wants Silvio to win, so he can shut him up, tae his title, and kick his butt. Driscoll is ready to fight now, but Silvio says he is not dressed and ready. As he leaves the ring, he is attacked from behind by Eddie Diamond, who locks him in the Crossfire on the floor.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "The Chosen One" Mitch Huff defeats "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (c) (w/Jessie Belle).
A back and forth match that sees interference from both Robbie Walker & Ryan Howe. Walker sits at ringside, which distracts Huff, and allows Royal to take advantage. Later on, Howe is sitting in the crowd with a ticket and a bag of popcorn, which distracts Royal. Royal has Huff set up for the pedigree, but Huff reverses and superkicks Royal. Royal falls out of the ring and gets counted out so he retains the title.
After the match, Howe starts toward the ringside area and Dean Hill comes out. Dean tells Howe to stop and listen. He fined Howe, he came back. He suspended Howe, he came back. He fired him, he came back. Now Royal went out and filed a restraining order. He tells Howe that he cannot come within 50 feet of Royal or he will be in violation and be taken to jail.
This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

OVW Southern Tag Team Champions "Wylde & Reckless": Adam Wylde & Robbie Walker defeat "The Van Zandt Family Circus": Dapper Dan Van Zandt & the Ringmaster (w/Scarlet).
The Van Zandt Family controls early, double teaming and using interference from Scarlet. Robbie gets a hot tag to Wylde. Wylde cleans house, and Dan is knocked from the apron. Ringmaster goes up top, but Wylde & Walker catch him with a double superkick for the 3.
As always, thanks for reading!

    1. I forgot to put that in my notes. Besides Stu Miles & Adam Revolver, I remember Shane Andrews, Tyler Matrix, Wes Connor, Elvis Pridemoore, Dapper Dan, the Ringmaster, Leon Shelly, & Dre Blitz.

  3. Do you think Mitchell Huff will enter the 4 corner tag? If so, who do you think he will choose as a partner?
