OVW TV #835: "Ultraviolent Preview?"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, August 19, 2015. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Randy Royal defends the OVW TV Title against Eddie Diamond, Mitch Huff faces Robbie Walker in a Winner Take All Match, Adam Revolver faces Rev. Stuart Miles, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Big Jon (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeats Dre Blitz.
Blitz tries to hit Jon to no effect. Jon hits 2 massive clotheslines and a chokeslam and this one is over quick.

"Ladies Man" Leon Shelly defeats Elvis Pridemoore.
Elvis with some hard hits and chokes early to Leon. Leon rallies with a clothesline, spinning back elbow, and a flying body press to get the 3.
After the match, angry Elvis goes after Leon and throws a chair across the floor.

"The Standout" Adam Wylde defeats "Bad Boy" Shane Andrews.
This was a good back and forth match. Shane takes Wylde down and goes up top, but misses a flying splash. Wylde recovers and hits Trouble in Paradise for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey & Timmy Danger are on commentary, and Shannon the Dude is the ring announcer.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "EFD" Eddie Diamond defeats "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (c) (w/Jessie Belle) by DQ.
Back and forth early, but as EFD starts to take advantage, Jessie Belle distracts the ref. Royal low blows EFD, but can't put him away. EFD starts to come back as Royal attempts to catch him with a pedigree. EFD reverses into the Crossfire, but Chris Silvio runs out and attacks EFD.
After the match, Devin Driscoll runs out to even the odds, and Driscoll & EFD run Silvio & Royal off. We would find out that these 4 men were put into a tag match for the main event.

Jade Dawson defeats Mohamad Ali Vaez (w/Bin Hamin).
Jade is getting the better of Ali until Hamin interferes, allowing Ali to take control. Jade comes back again and hits a big neckbreaker, but Ali kicks out. Jade hits a second neckbreaker, but Hamin puts Ali's foot on the ropes. Ali rolls out and grabs a chair, but Jade dropkicks it in Ali's face. Ali rolls out and gets counted out as Jade holds the chair to keep him and Hamin away.

We see some videos from Chris Silvio & Eddie Diamond. They talk about their upcoming battle at SNS.

Dapper Dan Van Zandt (w/Scarlet & the Ringmaster) defeats Tyler Matrix.
Matrix gets in some good kicks to Dan's midsection and some dropkicks, but gets caught and dropped with the spinning sitout powerbomb for the 3.
After the match, Dapper Dan is interviewed by Gilbert. Dan says his group is a family of misfits. He says he faces the "Ladies' Man" at the September SNS, and Leon will be sacrificed drop by drop.

Backstage, Josh Ashcraft says he did what he set out to do. He got his War Machine a shot at the tag team titles at the September SNS. "The Walking Weapon" Trevor Steele & "Technical Titan" Eric Locker will destroy the competition in a 4-corner tag team match, regardless of the competition. Big Jon comes in and punches the lockers, wanting to know where his shot is. Josh tells him to trust in him, that he has big plans for Jon.

"Primetime" Robbie Walker vs. "The Chosen One" Mitch Huff.
This was a good match that saw Huff with the early offense and control. Walker got some offense back in, and both men avoided the other's super kick. Huff catches a kick attempt by Walker, and hits a German Suplex. Referee AJ counts to 3 and it appears that Huff is now the other half of the tag team champions.
However, senior official Joe Wheeler comes out and says Walker's shoulders were still moving on the mat, so it's a no contest. Huff & Walker fight over the title, and push AJ out of the way. They then double superkick Joe Wheeler. They fight with each other some more as Adam Wylde runs out.
They both double superkick Wylde by mistake.

We get a video from "The Pope" Elijah Burke saying that he will be at the next SNS to answer the many questions he has been getting.

"The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles defeats Adam Revolver.
Adam comes out first and mocks religion, saying the fans who believe this stuff are just as bad as Muslims. He then says a lot of fans probably wasted their summers at Vacation "Magic" School. Stu runs out and goes after Adam, hitting him into the barricade and chopping him a few times. He rolls him in and climbs up top, but Adam gets up and slams him off. Adam controls for a bit and locks in the sleeper, but Stu fights back and out of it. Adam flips over Stu for a rollup, but Stu drops across Adam's chest and hooks a leg for the 3.

Devin Driscoll & "EFD" Eddie Diamond defeat "Ultraviolent" Chris Silvio & "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (w/Jessie Belle).
EFD catches Silvio in the Crossfire as Driscoll keeps Royal from breaking it up, by pulling him down and low blowing him into the ringpost. Silvio taps out.
After the match, Ryan Howe runs out and attacks Royal while EFD & Silvio continue to fight around ringside.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

The Assassin defeats Bin Hamin.
Hamin attacks Assassin and tries to lock in a camel clutch, but Assassin breaks out and hits a huge clothesline for the 3.

Trevor Steele (w/Josh Ashcraft) defeats Rump Thump.
Josh interferes enough that Trevor catches Rump with a pumphandle slam for the 3.

As always, thanks for reading!

  1. Did Dean or any other official have anything to say about Ryans run-in ? If he is not an official member of the OVW staff he should be facing assault charges. Now, he is now different than any other spectator. Dean Hill is a retired police officer and should know the law. Put this long haired hippie in jail where he belongs.

  2. I was wondering about that myself. Since Ryan is no longer employed by OVW, he should not have even been in the back. He should be treated like any other spectator. He had no more right to attack Randy than any of the fans. Dean should not let this be allowed.

  3. royal got what he deserved next time hope he gives a lil something to jezebel

  4. Whether or not Randy got what he deserved is not the issue. The issue is that Ryan was no longer employed by OVW and had no right to be in the back. By attacking Randy, he has left himself open for assault charges, has well as leaving OVW open to a lawsuit. I like both Ryan and Randy, but we know had the situation been reversed, Randy would be in jail. If this is allowed, Dean is sending the message that his authority means nothing.
