OVW TV #799: "Mary Jane Gets Smoked"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, December 10, 2014. This episode can be seen online Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Michael Hayes defends the TV Title against Raul LaMotta, Jim Cornette addresses an issue with Josh Ashcraft, Adam Revolver promises to do something unprecedented as OVW Heavyweight Champion, plus more!

With the extra tapings over the next two weeks, I am going to shorten my recaps ahead of the Christmas/New Year's break.

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Dapper Dan vs. Adam Wyld.
A good back and forth match. Dan has the early advantage with his strength, but Wyld comes back and connects with a moonsault for the 3.
WINNER: WYLD by pinfall.

"The No Class Connection": Deonta Davis & Leon Shelly vs. The Assassin & "Ram Jam" Jonathan Ramser.
No Class works over Ram Jam, but he tags the Assassin. The Assassin gets No Class dancing with him, then double clotheslines them both. He tags Ram Jam back in, and throws him off the top rope to splash Deonta for the 3.
WINNERS: ASSASSIN & RAM JAM by pinfall.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 9AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Dean Hill & Gilbert Corsey are on commentary, and Shannon the Dude is the ring announcer.

"Wrestling's Rockstar" Ryan Howe & "Primetime" Robbie Walker vs. OVW Southern Tag Team Champions "TerreMex": Randy Terrez & the Mexicutioner.
A very good fast-paced match that went back and forth. In the end, all 4 men are in the ring. Robbie has Terrez, but as he lifts him up, Terrez dropkicks Howe and DDT's Robbie. Mex throws Howe out of the ring as Terrez pins Robbie.
WINNERS: TERREMEX by pinfall.

Gilbert Corsey has acting chairman Jim Cornette and senior official Joe Wheeler in the ring. Cornette says something was brought to his attention by Wheeler, regarding Josh Ashcraft's officiating at the SNS.
He brings Josh out, and Josh says he called it down the middle to the best of his ability. Cornette has video footage of what happened, and Josh says he was pushed in the corner and had sweat in his eyes. Cornette says everyone can see what happened, and Josh's services are no longer needed! Josh is upset and calls Wheeler an "old fart" and blames him. Cornette says Wheeler would probably really like to hit Josh, wouldn't he? Wheeler says he would, but knows that's not something a senior official should do. Cornette says especially if he saw that, he would have to do something about it. Cornette turns around, and Wheeler decks Josh in the jaw.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "Rudo" Raul LaMotta vs. Michael Hayes (c).
Raul goes after Hayes and chops him, but Hayes fires back, hits the backdrop, and the facebuster to get the 3.
WINNER and STILL OVW TV CHAMPION: HAYES by pinfall.

Adam Revolver comes to the ring and brags about being a triple crown champion even though no one would listen to him. He says being in the same company as CM Punk, James "Moose" Thomas, and Mike Mondo, he needs to separate himself by doing something unprecedented. He will defend the OVW Heavyweight Title each week. He says he put all the names of the top competitors into his magic beanie hat and will draw one out, and that's who will get a lucky shot. He draws out Dave-Lo.
OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Adam Revolver (c) vs. Dave-Lo.
Revolver controls most of the match and could have pinned Dave-Lo on 2 different occasions, but acted like Dave kicked out. He hits the Russian leg sweep and locks on the sleeper hold for the submission win.
WINNER and STILL OVW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: REVOLVER by submission.

Gilbert Corsey is in the ring with Jim Cornette and says that Michael Titus asked for Danny Davis, Trailer Park Trash, and Dean Hill to come to the ring. Gilbert then calls for Titus to come out, and he comes along with the War Machine and Marcus Anthony.
Titus has 2 demands for Cornette. He wants Dean Hill fired, and he wants better competition than the two "casket-seekers" (Trash & Davis) for the War Machine. Cornette says he is not firing Dean Hill, but since Dean did get involved at the SNS, he will fine him...he wants a $5.00 gift card from Wendy's in his box. He then says that since Marcus got involved, he better find somewhere else to wrestle, because he's suspended! He says as far as the War Machine goes, they will face Danny Davis & Trash again in E-Town on the 27th, AND at the January 3rd Saturday Night Special, Danny & Trash will face the War Machine AND Michael Titus in a handicap match! Titus falls to the mat as if he's having a heart attack, and Danny Davis promises that Titus will leave SNS on a stretcher with his toes pointed up, or he will refund all the good people their money back!

Chris Silvio comes out and says that he has talked things over with Mary Jane since last week and everything is good in the Silvio household.
"The Ultraviolent" Chris Silvio (w/Silvio Security's Big Trevor & Mary Jane) vs. Eddie F. Diamond.
EFD with a quick start and Trevor tries to interfere. He gets thrown out. The match goes back and forth, and Mary Jane gets on the apron. Silvio shoves EFD off the ropes, and he collides with Mary Jane, knocking her to the floor. EFD looks out to check on her, and Silvio rolls him up with a handful of tights for the 3.
WINNER: SILVIO by pinfall.
Silvio doesn't seem too concerned as referee Joe Wheeler and EFD tend to Mary Jane on the outside.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

"The Fabulous Free Bodies": The Bodyguy & Big Jon vs. "Primetime" Robbie Walker & Adam Wyld.
The Free Bodies work over Wyld for most of the match. He tags Robbie and Robbie comes in with atomic drops to Bodyguy and dropkicks to Jon. He calls for Wyld to go up top as he does too. They go to jump off on Bodyguy, but Jon catches both of them off the top rope and chokeslams them both. Bodyguy lays across both of them for the 3.
WINNERS: FREE BODIES by pinfall.

This episode of OVW TV will be up online tomorrow.

The next TV taping will happen THIS SATURDAY! It's OVW TV episode #800 and you never know who could show up! Same time of 7:00PM and still only $5!

As always, thanks for reading!

  1. Seeing Josh get decked by Joe Wheeler was worth the price of admission. Those "senior citizens" pack a wallop.

  2. Did Cornette ever get his Wendy's gift card?
