OVW TV #740: "Champion vs. Champion"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, October 23, 2013. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, there is a confrontation between Jamin Olivencia, Johnny Spade, and the Marauders, Lovely Lylah goes 1-on-1 with Taeler Hendrix, Jay Bradley has a gauntlet of matches, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Match:

The Bodyguy comes out with 4M and says that they are here to become a staple in the tag team division. They are the "Marvelous Bodies". He then issues an open challenge to any tag team in the back. The challenge is answered by the OVW Southern Tag Team Champions.
NON-TITLE TAG TEAM MATCH: "The Marvelous Bodies" The Bodyguy & 4M: "Mister Marvelous" Melvin Maximus vs. Michael Hayes & Mohamad Ali Vaez (c).
Ali & Hayes are on fire out of the gate, but the Marvelous Bodies gain advantage and work over Hayes. Hayes fights back, tags Ali, and they get the win after a facebuster to the knees of Hayes and a neckbreaker from Ali to the Bodyguy for the 3.
WINNERS: HAYES & ALI by pinfall.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv and on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 9AM with replays Wednesdays at 9PM after WWE Main Event.

Jamin Olivencia comes to the ring and says Johnny Spade left for a year and thinks he can come back and get a title shot. The answer to his challenge is still "no". He does want Spade to come to the ring and face him like a man, though. No sucker kicks. Timmy Danger rolls out in his wheelchair with Spade right behind. He rambles on for a minute as the crowd chants for him to shut up.
Spade takes the mic and says Danger is the best hype man there is and then gets in the ring and tells Jamin he isn't going to touch him and he hopes Jamin won't touch him. He understands why Jamin doesn't want to do the match. He can't get the job done. He has never been able to beat him when the title is on the line. He says just like with the girls, Jamin always comes up a little short. Jamin sounds like he is about to accept a challenge and make it official, but he is interrupted by the Marauders.
Shiloh Jonze says if anyone deserves a shot, it is him. He defeated Elijah Burke in a steel cage last week. He says Jamin shouldn't worry about Spade, or Kurt Angle, but him. The Marauders go after Jamin as Spade stands back and watches in the corner. Jamin is able to fight them off and get out of the ring. He tells Shiloh if he wants a match, it'll be tonight.

J. Best vs. Jay Bradley.
As soon as the bell rings, Jay charges at Best and clobbers him with a Boomstick for the 3.
WINNER: BRADLEY by pinfall.
Jay grabs a mic and says that he is a 2-time OVW champion, a TNA superstar, a future TNA champion, and this is the best OVW has to offer? He wants another opponent.
Jay Bradley vs. Stephon J. Baxter III.
Jay attacks Stephon as soon as he gets in the ring. Stephon tries to get in a little offense, but Jay hits him with a Boomstick as well for 3.
WINNER: BRADLEY by pinfall.
Jay grabs the mic again and says he barely broke a sweat. Send someone else out.
Jay Bradley vs. Eddie F. Diamond.
Jay misses an attack on EFD as EFD tries getting in the ring. EFD is on fire, knocking Jay off his game, but Jay pokes him in the eye and hits the Boomstick for the win.
WINNER: BRADLEY by pinfall.

OVW Women's Champion Lei'D Tapa comes out and joins Gilbert Corsey & Michael Titus on commentary.
Taeler Hendrix vs. "Miss OVW" Lovely Lylah.
Taeler has Lylah's "Miss OVW" tiara and taunts her with it. Taeler dominates most of the match and calls Lylah a "whale". Mid-match, Taeler puts on Lylah's tiara, and Lylah snaps. She spears Taeler, splashes her in the corner, and finishes her off with a big powerslam for the 3.
WINNER: LYLAH by pinfall.
Tapa holds up the title at the announce table as she stares in the ring at Lylah.

MIXED TAG MATCH: Jessie Belle & "The Justin Bieber of Professional Wrestling" Dylan Bostic vs. Holly Blossom & Evan Markopoulos.
Dylan distracts Evan by telling Jessie Belle he dropped something. Evan looks at Jessie Belle as she bends over to look. Dylan tries to roll him up while distracted. Evan gets a side headlock on Dylan and tags Holly. Holly takes over the headlock on Dylan, who is enjoying the move with his head pressed into her chest. Holly tags Evan back in. Dylan locks Evan up from behind and tags Jessie Belle. Jessie Belle takes over and Evan reverses, enjoying having Jessie Belle locked up from behind. Finally, the girls get mad and tag themselves in. Jessie Belle gets Holly in a small package and Evan gets in and rolls Holly over on top. As the ref gets him out, Dylan rolls Jessie Belle back on top for the 3.
WINNERS: JESSIE BELLE & BOSTIC by pinfall.
After the match, Evan sneaks up behind Jessie Belle and smacks her on the butt. He runs out real quick and Jessie Belle, seeing no one else around, smacks Dylan in the face as Evan laughs on the outside. Dylan yells out to him that he still won, though.

Backstage, the Mobile Homers say they have lost it all gambling. Ted McNaler has something to help, though. A credit card with a $1000 limit. They can invest in the machines and try to win their money back. He looks at a map and tells Adam Revolver & Brittany Devore to spread out, but Adam says he is looking at a map of the Louisville Zoo. Ted then says he has a better idea. They will go to the free public library and play online video poker! They leave and we see Shiloh Jonze with the Maraduers. Shiloh says "Carpe Diem", it's time to seize the opportunity, and bring both the TV Title and Heavyweight Title to the Marauders.

Rudy Switchblade comes out and says he is sorry to interrupt the show, but apparently that's the only way to do things around here. He says he should have been in a tag match tonight with his partner, Jessie Godderz, in a best of 3 series match against the champions. Instead, because the Furions decided to do things their way, he can't.
He calls them out, and Rob Terry says they won the Nightmare Cup beating Ali & Hayes and the Best Team Ever and were # 1 contenders. Rudy says they did win and beat them, but then he split and as far as he's concerned, they are at the back of the line. Marcus says to give him some space and tells Rudy to shut his mouth or the same thing will happen to him that happened to Jessie. Rudy acts like he is going to leave, but takes his jacket off and hits Marcus & Rob from behind. Their power is too much and they set him up for the double powerslam.
Ali & Hayes come out to save him, but they get destroyed by the Furions as well. They squash Ali and then Hayes between them and deliver the double powerslam to Rudy.

OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Shiloh Jonze (w/Clint Poe, Raul LaMotta, Nick Dumeyer, & Joe Coleman) vs. Jamin Olivencia (c).
Shiloh takes the early advantage and controls most of the match thanks to outside interference from the Marauders. Jamin finally starts to recover and fight back and takes back control. The Marauders jump up on the ring apron, distracting the ref and Jamin. Shiloh has the handcuffs that Coleman wears around his neck, but Johnny Spade runs out and superkicks Shiloh. Jamin turns around and makes the pin, but doesn't know what happened.
WINNER and STILL OVW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: JAMIN by pinfall.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Thanks to referee Chris Sharpe for the final results (I had to leave at intermission):

Elvis Pridemoore defeated Robo De Luna.

The Mobile Homers & Double Platinum (Ted McNaler, Adam Revolver, Ryan Howe, & Rockstar Spud) defeated the Marauders (Joe Coleman, Raul LaMotta, Clint Poe, & Nick Dumeyer) in 8-man tag action.

This episode of OVW TV will be up online tomorrow. As always, thanks for reading!
