OVW TV #722: "Big Rob vs. Boomstick; Coalition Calamity"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, June 19, 2013. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, the tables are turned when Rob Terry calls out Jay Bradley, Heidi Lovelace goes against Lei'd Tapa, Randy Royal defends the OVW TV Title against Sam Shaw, Jessie Godderz faces Rockstar Spud, Marcus Anthony is in action, the Coalition causes chaos again to end the show, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Ken of OVW, Justin Bieber of Professional Wrestling, & King of Pink" Dylan Freak'n Bostic vs. Tony Gunn.
Dylan locks Gunn up from behind and takes him down. Gunn gets up, shoves Dylan, and then takes him down. Dylan rolls out for a breather. He gets on the apron, and Gunn flips him back in the ring. He hits a monkey flip in the corner and a DDT for 2. He goes for another monkey flip, but Dylan moves and pulls him down to the mat. Dylan hits him and elbows him in the corner. He delivers a snapmare and locks in a headlock. Gunn elbows out, runs off the ropes, but is caught by a dropkick. Dylan tries to pin for 2. He throws Gunn in the corner and charges, but Gunn moves and tries to roll him up. Dylan blocks him and chops him. He delivers a slam and goes for a moonsault off the ropes, but misses. Gunn with a clothesline, a dropkick, and a backdrop. He then hits a reverse DDT for 3.
WINNER: GUNN by pinfall.

The Coalition: "Thunderlats" Joe Coleman, Shiloh Jonze, & "Rudo" Raul LaMotta (w/Ghillie Man) vs. Elvis Pridemoore & Lambda Lambda Lambda: Albert Einstein Baxter II & Stephon J. Baxter III.
The Coalition wasted no time destroying Elvis, then Stephon, and finally Albert. Albert tried to mount a little offense, firing away on Shiloh, but in the end, the Coalition delivered a triple powerbomb off the second rope with Shiloh getting the 3.
WINNERS: COALITION by pinfall.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv and on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 12 noon with replays Wednesdays at 9PM after WWE Main Event.

Rob Terry comes out to start the show and says it will be him vs. Jamin Olivencia at SNS on July 6th, but he's sick and tired of Jay Bradley running around looking to become #1 contender, and challenges him for his #1 contendership tonight. Jay comes out and says Rob is ruining his fun of boomsticking people. He's not ready to compete right now, but the main event slot is open, and seeing as he is in the BFG series and is a PPV star, he'll fight him in the main event. Rob says he will break him limb by limb and bumps Jay on his way out of the ring. Before Rob can get out, Jay attacks him and focuses on Rob's knee. He goes to the outside and grabs a chair, and goes to town on Rob's knee before officials finally get him out of the ring.

We get a promo for the official debut of the Bodyguy coming soon.

Paredyse vs. "Strongest Gamer Alive" Marcus Anthony.
Marcus throws Paredyse into the ropes, and hits him with a shoulder block. He hits him with another, and throws Paredyse hard into the corner. He throws him into another corner and charges. Paredyse leaps over Marcus and slaps his butt, which only appears to anger Marcus. Paredyse jumps on his back and gouges his eyes. He hits a hurricanrana sending Marcus into the corner, followed by a dropkick. Marcus catches him with a clothesline. He hits a big slam, but misses the Gamma Punch. Paredyse hits 3 dropkicks, and runs at Marcus, but is caught with the Gamma Punch finisher for 3.
WINNER: MARCUS by pinfall.

Heidi Lovelace approaches Taeler Hendrix and is upset that she was used as a human shield last week and thinks she is being used by Taeler. Taeler tells her otherwise and says she must just be stressed because she has a match with Lei'd Tapa tonight.

"Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jessie Godderz vs. Rockstar Spud.
Jessie locks up with Spud, and Spud kicks Jessie in the leg. Jessie stomps him down and hits his legdrop. He tries for a pin. Jessie kicks him some more, and hammers him in the back. He chokes Spud, and then goes for the Pec-Tacular Press, but Spud slides off and kicks Jessie in the leg again. Jessie takes him back down, but misses an elbow. Spud hits a dropkick and then hits his roll up bomb for 3.
WINNER: SPUD by pinfall.

Taeler Hendrix and Nikki St. John are seen laughing in the back, and Taeler says something about having Heidi wrapped around her finger. They leave the room and the Assassin is seen standing in the background.

Heidi Lovelace vs. Lei'd Tapa.
Heidi strikes and kicks Tapa, but Tapa takes her down with a big headbutt. She throws her hard in the corner and charges. Heidi moves and jumps on Tapa's back. Tapa slings her down. She hits a slam, a big boot, and finishes Heidi off with the spinning diamond cutter for 3.
WINNER: TAPA by pinfall.

Jessie Godderz is on the phone with his agent, who apparently tries to fire him, and Jessie yells in the phone that he's fired. Eddie Diamond is talking to Bobbi Bardot, and asks if she has seen his phone. Epiphany walks up with his phone and asks why he has a picture of Lei'd Tapa on it. He explains that he was doing "research" if Epiphany should face her in the future. We then see Rob Terry being checked on, when Jay Bradley runs in and attacks Rob and his knee again.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "Off the Wall" Sam Shaw vs. "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (c).
Shaw grabs a mic and says Tony Gunn is a friend and that's why he allowed Randy to wait another week to defend the title, but he doesn't like the way Randy is doing things. Royal kicks him and chops him in the corner. He goes for a backdrop, but Shaw flips out, hits him, and hits a dropkick. He delivers a monkey flip and hits the Lou Thesz press. Referee Chris Sharpe tells him to make sure his fists are open, allowing Royal to sneak a chain out of his tights and around his hand. Shaw turns into a loaded fist for 3.
WINNER: ROYAL by pinfall.
After the match, Tony Gunn runs out and tells Sharpe what happened, and then exposes the chain. Sharpe orders the match to restart, and Royal shoves Gunn.
OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "Off the Wall" Sam Shaw vs. "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (c).
Gunn shoves Royal to the mat and tells him he's done with him. Royal gets up and knocks Gunn out of the ring to the floor. He turns into a clothesline from Shaw, a dropkick, and the backbreaker/neckbreaker combo, but the Coalition runs out and attacks Shaw.
WINNER: SHAW by DQ.
Michael Hayes, Mohamad Ali Vaez, Ryan Howe, Rockstar Spud, & Rudy Switchblade all run out and there is chaos in the ring. Crimson & Jason Wayne had set up a chair between the top 2 turnbuckles in the corner, and send Shaw through it during all the commotion. The Coalition retreats to the locker room as Hayes, Ali, Spud, Howe, & Rudy check on Shaw.

#1 CONTENDERSHIP for the OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Jay Bradley vs. "The Welsh Colossus" Rob Terry.
Jamin Olivencia came out first and joined Gilbert Corsey & Michael Titus on commentary. Rob clubs Jay, but Jay kicks him in the bad knee. Rob catches him with a back elbow and slings him across the ring. He tries to pin for 2. Jay goes back after the knee. He tries to throw Rob off the ropes, but Rob reverses and catches him with a back elbow. Jay kicks him in the knee again, but Rob clubs him and throws him to the corner. He charges, but Jay moves, and grabs Rob's leg and twists it around the rope. He then rolls outside, pulls Rob down, and hits his leg off the ringpost. He kicks the knee and gets back in and delivers 2 elbow drops. He continues to stomp and work over the knee. He tries to pin, but Rob still powers out at 1. Jay hits Rob's knee off the ring apron. Rob hits Jay in the gut, but Jay kicks his knee. He twists Rob's knee in a submission hold. Jamin stands up at the announce table and yells at Rob to dig deep. Rob shoves Jay off. Jay charges for the Boomstick, but Rob hits a backflip. He clotheslines, back elbows Jay, but Jay kicks the knee again. He goes off the ropes and leaps at Rob, but Rob clubs him across the back. He is able to hit the massive powerslam and get the 3!
WINNER and (STILL) #1 CONTENDER: TERRY by pinfall.

Michael Hayes & Mohamad Ali Vaez dart to the ring. Ali says their friend Sam Shaw had to be taken to the hospital, because of another cowardly attack. He calls out the Coalition and wants them now, and doesn't want to wait for Saturday Night Special. Rockstar Spud, Rudy Switchblade, & Ryan Howe run out for backup as the Coalition comes to the ring. The Coalition ends up getting the upperhand, thanks in large part to shots with the baton that Jason Wayne uses. Hayes & Ali are left laying in the middle of the ring, and the Generals spray paint yellow lines down their backs and call them the cowards. Jason Wayne recites the Coalition's pledge to deafening boos from the crowd to end the show.
This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

The Bodyguy & Fabiano Rolento-to-to vs. Rudy Switchblade & Ryan Howe.
Rudy came out playing the harmonica to accompany Howe's guitar playing. A good back and forth match with the comedy spots played well by Fabiano. In the end, Rudy catches Fabiano in the Boston crab while Howe keeps Bodyguy from interfering, for the tapout.
WINNERS: RUDY & HOWE by submission.

Taeler Hendrix & Nikki St. John vs. Hannah & Holly Blossom.
Taeler stayed on the run to start the match, but attacked Hannah when her back was turned. Nikki came in and worked her over a bit and kept her from tagging Holly. Taeler came back in and locked in a sleeper, but Hannah broke free and tagged Holly. Holly hit a Lou Thesz press on Taeler and then hit a back elbow to Nikki. Hannah came back in and fought with Nikki to the outside. Holly flips over Taeler and tries to roll her up for a pin, but Taeler drops down on Holly's shoulders and hooks her leg for 3.
WINNERS: TAELER & NIKKI by pinfall.

"The Mexicutioner" Roberto De Luna (w/"VIP" Joe Rosa & the VIP Club) vs. The Mysterious Castle.
Castle tried to use his speed and agility, but it was no match for the powerful Roberto. Roberto kept catching Castle and making him pay. He hit a swinging side slam for 3 for the win.
WINNER: DE LUNA by pinfall.

    1. Approx. 6PM ET. Sometimes they get it up a little earlier, sometimes a little later. That would be a good time to check, though.
