This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, May 8, 2013. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Jay Bradley wants to get his hands on the Coalition, Trina watches her opponent and #1 contender Epiphany in action, Randy Royal meets OVW Television Champion Rockstar Spud, King Mo has his first televised match, Sam Shaw is in action, Heidi Lovelace wants to talk with Taeler Hendrix again, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Flash Flanagan vs. Aaron Sky.
Flash locks up in the corner with Aaron and goes for a cheap shot, but Aaron blocks and hits Flash with a forearm. He locks in a side headlock, but Flash reverses into a headscissor hold. Aaron gets out and locks a side headlock back on. Flash gets Aaron into the corner and chops him. He throws him into the opposite corner, but Aaron jumps up on the top rope and hits a flying body press for 2. Another side headlock, but Flash breaks free and puts a submission on Aaron. Aaron starts to break out, but Flash pulls him down by his hair. He delivers another chop and throws Aaron in the corner. He charges, but Aaron moves, and Flash saddles the second rope. Aaron shoulders him in the corner and throws him into the opposite corner. He charges, but catches a knee from Flash. Flash goes up top and hits a flying neckbreaker for 3.
WINNER: FLASH by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Flash continues to dominate since returning recently.

Nikki St. John vs. Hannah Blossom (w/Holly).
Hannah & Nikki exchange submissions. Nikki drags Hannah down by her hair and elbows her across the back. She goes for a bulldog, but Hannah throws her off. Hannah does a couple head tosses, and hits a Blossom Kick for 3.
WINNER: HANNAH by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Hannah wins one for Team Blossom as the sisters continue to succeed.

Paredyse (w/4M: "Mister Marvelous" Melvin Maximus) vs. Rudy Switchblade.
Rudy kicks Paredyse and hits an arm drag. Paredyse rolls out. When he gets in, Rudy takes him down and puts him in the elevated Boston crab, but Paredyse gets to the ropes and rolls out and hides behind 4M. Rudy goes after him, but 4M stands in his way. Paredyse sneaks in the ring and Rudy goes to roll in. Paredyse drops an elbow, but Rudy rolls out of the way. Paredyse holds his elbow and distracts the ref, and 4M clubs Rudy from behind. Paredyse takes control for a bit with 4M interfering and choking Rudy in the ropes. Paredyse misses a buttdrop, and Rudy goes for the Boston crab again. 4M gets on the apron, and Rudy slingshots Paredyse into him. He puts Paredyse back in the Boston crab and makes him tap.
WINNER: RUDY by submission.
MY TAKE: Rudy's singles run continues to take off with another win here tonight.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv and on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 12 noon with replays Wednesdays at 9PM after WWE Main Event.

The show opens with the Coalition coming to the ring (minus Crimson & Jack Black). Jason Wayne says the match against Sam Shaw at Saturday Night Special is not fair, and General Crimson is in a meeting with the Board of Directors to get Michael Hayes removed as referee. He goes on to say that Sergeant Major Jack Black has been a casualty of war, and tonight "Thunderlats" Joe Coleman will take out some poor soul from the back...
Joe Coleman (w/the Coalition) vs. Elvis Pridemoore.
Coleman attacks Elvis and tries to pin him, but Jason Wayne yells for him to not to, and to make him pay. Coleman continues his assault when Jay Bradley runs out and delivers a Boomstick to Coleman.
WINNER: COLEMAN by DQ.
The Coalition retreats and Jay grabs a mic. He wants the Coalition tonight. Michael Hayes comes out and asks him where he was last week when he needed him. He says it doesn't matter now, he's glad to see Jay is ready to fight. Jason Wayne says he already has a match "tonight" at the Saturday Night Special and Joe Coleman just fought. He says that leaves Delta Team Bravo, and they only fight as a unit. Jay says that's okay, he wants them tonight.
MY TAKE: Jay might have learned that there are some things worth fighting for.

Trina comes out for commentary alongside Gilbert Corsey & Dean Hill, displacing Michael Titus for the upcoming match.
Lovely Lylah vs. Epiphany (w/Eddie Diamond).
Lylah attacks Epiphany as she eskimo kisses EFD. She misses a running splash, and Epiphany gets up and clotheslines her, slams her, and hits her twisting suplex finisher for the win.
WINNER: EPIPHANY by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Epiphany looks ready for her title rematch at SNS, but she had better not let Eddie distract her.

In the back, Rockstar Spud tells Randy Royal he understands his situation, but catch him if he can. We then see the Mobile Homers talking, and Heidi approaches them looking for Taeler Hendrix. Jay Bradley is walking down the hall, and Ted & Adam argue over who should be Jay's partner, but Jay just walks on.

J. Best (w/"VIP" Joe Rosa & the VIP Club) vs. King Mo.
Mo flips Best around like a rag doll, but Best pokes Mo in the eyes. He hits Mo from behind while he can't see and high fives his VIP mates. He grabs Mo and throws him into the ropes, but Mo flips around Best, takes him down, and locks on a leg submission making Best tap immediately.
WINNER: KING MO by submission.
MY TAKE: Mo makes quick work of Best with his MMA submission.

We see a video from Jamin Olivencia, who says Doug can try and play games, but he's already beat him, and will do it again at SNS.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (w/Tony Gunn) vs. Rockstar Spud (c).
Royal goes after Spud, but Spud makes Royal chase him. Royal chases him back into the ring, and Spud hits a drop toehold. They continue to exchange blows, and after a lot of back and forth, Randy takes Spud down and tries to pin him while holding the ropes. Gunn knocks Randy's hands off, and he yells at Gunn. He turns around, and Spud rolls him up for 3.
WINNER and STILL OVW TV CHAMPION: SPUD by pinfall.
After the match, Randy Royal is livid. He grabs a mic and says this isn't over. He challenges Spud at SNS. Spud says he is a fighting champion and accepts. Royal then turns and tells Tony he is staying in the back.
MY TAKE: Royal's circumstances have led him to do whatever it takes to try and win the TV Title. Gunn didn't want him to win the "wrong" way, but at SNS, he won't be at ringside to make that decision. Will Double R claim the belt at SNS?

In the back, Jay Bradley walks by Ryan Howe who wants to partner with him, but Jay walks on.

"Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jessie Godderz vs. Sam Shaw.
Shaw reverses a hip toss and hits a dropkick. Jessie begs to keep Shaw away in the corner, but Jessie grabs him and throws him to the outside and hits him on the floor. Shaw rolls back in and Jessie goes for the patented legdrop. Shaw moves before Jessie drops it, so Jessie goes for an elbow drop, but misses that. Shaw hits his backbreaker/neckbreaker combo for 2. Shaw waits for Jessie to get up and hits the codebreaker and gets the 3.
WINNER: SHAW by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Shaw gets a good win under his belt heading into SNS against Jason Wayne. Can he start taking down the Coalition?

A video is shown of Doug Williams who says Jamin doesn't deserve to be champion and he will win back what is rightfully his at SNS.

Heidi Lovelace comes to the ring to talk to Taeler Hendrix once again. She's sorry every thing happened as it did. Taeler comes out and wants to verify that it was Heidi who sent her the gifts, that Dylan Bostic doesn't care about her, and that Ryan Howe didn't send her the gifts either. Dylan Bostic comes out and tells Taeler he always said it was okay to bring a stripper home. He sees two of them and 1 of himself and he's cool with that. Taeler hits him and knocks him down. He gets up and grabs her arm as Ryan Howe runs out and chases him away.
MY TAKE: This soap opera story is wacky. Heidi wants to be with Taeler, yet Howe & Bostic still have a beef with one another.

In the back, Rudy Switchblade wants to be Jay's partner, but Jay doesn't want one. Michael Hayes approaches and says he can't make a match without Jay having a partner. He says he'll make a decision for him and says there's his partner. Jay turns around and sees Rob Terry standing behind him. Big Rob says "Let's do this".

Delta Team Bravo: "Rudo" Raul LaMotta & Shiloh Jonze (w/the Coalition) vs. Jay Bradley & "The Welsh Colossus" Rob Terry.
Jay passes up Rob during the entrance and makes a beeline to the ring after Delta Team Bravo. Jay does pretty well, but Rob gets in and they work well together. Jay spears Raul out of the ring as Rob goes after Shiloh. Ghillie gets in the ring, and Rob chases him to the back. Jay gets back in and sets up for the Boomstick, but Joe Coleman gets in and takes out his knee. The Coalition beats down Jay as Sam Shaw runs out. Shaw does good for a bit, but the numbers game catches up. They are about to hit Sam with a chair when Michael Hayes comes out. He tells them not to as he gets up in Jason Wayne's face. Wayne gives a thumbs down with the Coalition surrounding Hayes, and they beat him down! Finally, Big Rob runs back out and chases them off, but the damage has been done!WINNERS: TERRY & BRADLEY by DQ.
MY TAKE: Will Michael Hayes be able to be fair and impartial in the match between Shaw & Wayne at SNS, especially after the attack on him tonight?

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Taeler Hendrix vs. Holly Blossom (w/Hannah).
Taeler slaps Holly twice, and Holly takes down Taeler and fires away. She then returns a slap to Taeler's face. She tries to pin for 2. Taeler hits Holly into the turnbuckle and rolls her up with a handful of tights for 3.
WINNER: TAELER by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Team Blossom takes a hit in their second encounter of the night.

"VIP" Joe Rosa (w/the VIP Club) vs. Jamin Olivencia.
VIP rakes Jamin's eyes, but Jamin comes back and locks VIP in a side headlock and takes him down. They go into the corner and clean break. Jamin spears VIP, hits a dropkick, an arm drag, and another dropkick. The VIP Club interferes and it allows VIP to hit Jamin from behind. The VIP Club chokes Jamin across the ropes. VIP hits a backdrop into a side slam. He goes for the V-I-P legdrop, but as he jumps up, Jamin gets up, catches him, and powerbombs him. He hits the kamikaze splash in the corner, a jumping clothesline, and after taking out the VIP Club who try to interfere again, hits VIP with the Standing O for 3.
WINNER: JAMIN by pinfall.
After the match, Doug Williams comes out and attacks Jamin, leaving him laying in the ring.
MY TAKE: Who is going to get the final blow in at SNS? The winner will be the OVW Heavyweight Champion.

Don't forget this episode will be up online tomorrow. A preview of SNS and the OVWmania Q&A's will also be up leading into Saturday's big show. As always, thanks for reading!
