OVW TV #705: "Trouble in the U.K."

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, February 20, 2013. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Doug Williams is upset with the new Director of Operations, the Coalition strikes again, the "beef" between the Mobile Homers and the Mascara Mafia continues, Cliff Compton defends the OVW Television Title, Eddie Diamond still yearns for Epiphany, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"Smooth" Johnny Spade b. Jeremiah Plunkett. Spade kicks Plunkett and then delivers 2 big chops in the corner. He goes for the running knee, but Plunkett catches him and hits a belly to belly suplex. Plunkett kicks him and knees him in the back. He chokes Spade and then charges him in the corner. Spade moves, hits the running knee, and follows it up with the Super Kick for 3. MY TAKE: Spade came in with his new vengeful attitude and took care of business.

James "Moose" Thomas b. Bodyguy. After Bodyguy came out and disrobed and talked about his submission "The Position of Flexion", Moose makes a beeline to the ring, charges Bodyguy, and throws him in the corner. He charges and splashes, hits the Moose Kick, and quickly gets the 3. MY TAKE: Moose came, saw, and conquered. He, too, means business.

"VIP" Joe Rosa (w/the VIP Club: Matt & Chase King, Austin Bradley, Roberto De Luna, & J. Best) b. Elvis Pridemoore. With a distraction by the VIP Club, Rosa attacks from behind. Elvis comes back with a slam and a splash, but the VIP Club gets back up on the apron. Elvis gets distracted and Rosa takes advantage again. He knees Elvis in the back and out of the ring. With the ref distracted, the VIP Club attacks Elvis on the outside. Elvis comes back again with running forearms, but the VIP Club distracts the ref again and pull Elvis' head across the top rope. VIP hits the VIP Treatment (spinning diamond cutter) for the pin and the win. MY TAKE: Rosa has been doing very well recently and with this new entourage around him, it will be tough to beat him.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Doug Williams comes to the ring and calls out Michael Hayes. He says he doesn't like his spur of the moment decisions as the new Director of Operations. He wasn't ready last week to face Jamin Olivencia. He needs time to train and watch videotape. He says he is ready to compete tonight and Hayes shouldn't abuse his power. Hayes says Doug abused his power as champion by beating up a referee. He can't take away his title, but will take away $5000. Since he is ready to compete, he will also face Jamin Olivencia in a rematch from last week and if Jamin wins, he becomes the new #1 contender for SNS.

The Mascara Mafia: Espy & Paredyse (w/Chris) vs. The Mobile Homers: Adam Revolver & "Manbeast" Ted McNaler (w/Brittany Devore). The Mascara Mafia are out first and the Mobile Homers' music hits with Brittany dashing toward the ring and Adam & Ted trying to calm her down. She wants anybody she can get a hold of as she chases the Mafia around. She gets up on the apron and Paredyse pushes her off. The Mobile Homers get in the ring and go after Espy & Paredyse, hitting them in the corners and then throwing them into each other. They set up for the Double Wide, but Chris distracts Ted. Brittany chases Chris into the ring and spears "it" as the Homers & Mafia try to pull them apart. As Ted & Adam try to get Brittany out of the ring, Espy sneaks up behind Adam and low blows him. He rolls him up and puts his feet on the ropes to get the pin. WINNERS: MASCARA MAFIA by pinfall. MY TAKE: I still get a strong feeling we will see a 6-person tag at the next SNS.

Backstage, Moose approaches Spade and says Spade's business is affecting his business and they are going to settle things in the ring next week.
OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "Marksman" Nick Dumeyer vs. "Mr. Multimedia" Cliff Compton (c). Cliff hits Dumeyer and totally dominates until he runs into an elbow in the corner. Dumeyer runs out with a clothesline and looks like he is ready to finish Cliff, but Cliff catches him in a Death Valley Driver to get the pin. WINNER and STILL OVW TV CHAMPION: COMPTON by pinfall. MY TAKE: Cliff successfully defends again as Double R watched on. Will Randy Royal take the title away at the next SNS?

Eddie Diamond (w/Timmy Danger) vs. "Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jessie Godderz. Eddie is still pleading for Epiphany to give him another chance. She comes out and listens to him talk about being a great guy and he says he knows how to treat big girls. She gets upset and leaves as Godderz comes out. Eddie tells him to just put him out of his misery. Jessie hits him with a big right. He chokes him in the ropes and then rams his head into the turnbuckle. He hits a big slam followed by his patented legdrop. He goes for the pin, but Eddie kicks out at 2. Jessie scrapes his face across the top rope, then stomps him in the face. He hits an uppercut and then yells out that Epiphany can get with a real man like him. This fires Eddie up, as he comes back with rights and lefts, but Jessie hits him and slams him with the Pec-Tacular Press. He then yells in Eddie's face "Don't ever touch me!". Jessie rolls outside and grabs a chair, but Epiphany comes out and grabs it away. As the ref is distracted with Epiphany, Rudy Switchblade runs out and grabs the chair and tosses it to Jessie. The ref turns around and tells Jessie to put the chair down. As Jessie is distracted, Eddie runs up from behind and shoves Jessie into the corner where Jessie runs into the chair in his hands and Eddie rolls him up for 3! WINNER: DIAMOND by pinfall. MY TAKE: The mind games continue between the former Best Team Ever. Who will win the battle of wits (or lack thereof)?

The Coalition's Delta Squad Alpha: Joe Coleman & Jack Black vs. The Gutcheckers: Alex Silva & Sam Shaw. Coleman & Black attack from behind. They pound on Shaw & Silva in opposite corners, but Black sees Shaw has taken advantage in the opposite corner. He charges after Shaw, but accidentally squashes Coleman. Silva takes Black down with a drop toehold as Shaw bulldogs him. Silva then twists Black's head back for Shaw to dropkick him in the face. Shaw only gets 2 as Coleman breaks up the pin. Coleman tags in and takes control against Shaw. Black tags back in and hits a big samoan drop. Coleman tags in and suplexes Shaw. Black tags back in and goes for a powerbomb, but Shaw fights out and tags Silva. Silva comes in and delivers dropkicks to both Black & Coleman. He hits an inverted atomic drop and clothesline to Coleman, then hits both of them with a Silva Surfer. He tags Shaw, and as Shaw goes up top, Crimson & Jason Wayne run out and interfere causing a disqualification. WINNERS: GUTCHECKERS by DQ. After the match, Shaw & Silva slide out to escape the numbers game, but the Wild Cards sneak attack them and throw them back in the ring. They all gang up on the Gutcheckers and Crimson & Wayne hit a double chokeslam to Shaw on a steel chair. They then place them in a bodybag. MY TAKE: Will Silva & Shaw be able to regain the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles with the rest of the infantry constantly getting involved?

Doug Williams vs. Jamin Olivencia. Doug comes out, but there is no sign of Jamin, even though his music has hit twice. Doug makes the ref start the count. Backstage, Josette is sitting in front of a door that someone is beating on. Michael Hayes walks up and slaps Josette out of the way and unlocks the door. Jamin comes out and Hayes tells him to hurry to the ring. Jamin makes it out at 7. Doug attacks as he enters the ring. He hits a high knee on Jamin in the corner. They fight outside where Jamin reverses and suplexes Doug on the floor. Back inside, Jamin hits Doug with the jumping fists and goes for the Standing O, but Doug throws him off. He hits a belly to back suplex. He places hi in a headlock and knees Jamin in the back. Doug with a hard shot to the head and a big slam. Doug drops a knee across Jamin's head. Jamin starts firing back, but Doug catches him off the ropes and hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. He places Jamin in a sharpshooter. Jamin reaches the ropes, but Doug refuses to break. He tells the referee "Remember what I told you!". Referee Jordan Barker tells him no and to break the hold. Doug starts going after Jordan, but Jamin gets up and rolls him up for 2. Doug clotheslines Jamin. He charges him, but runs into a boot. Jamin hits a dropkick off the second rope. He gets up and hits a kamikaze splash in the corner. He then hits a running jumping splash for 2. He goes for the Standing O again, but Doug reverses into a german suplex for 2. Doug gets Jamin in the corner and goes for a top rope suplex, but Jamin hits him off. He goes for a dropick, but crashes and burns. Doug picks him up, but Jamin rolls him over and gets the pin. WINNER: OLIVENCIA by pinfall. MY TAKE: At the next SNS, can Jamin finally win the big one? With 2 wins already, will the third time be the magic number?

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Lovely Lylah vs. "The Irish Redhead Bombshell" Taeler Hendrix. Lylah offers a handshake, but Taeler slaps her hand away. Lylah goes for a backslide, but Taeler kicks out at 1. Taeler goes for her finisher early, but Lylah attempts another backslide for 1 again. Taeler kicks her and goes to grab her, but Lylah runs her into the ropes and rolls her up for 2. Taeler hits a snapmare, kicks her, chokes her with her boot in he corner, and goes to throw her in the opposite corner. Lylah reverses. She picks Taeler up for a move, but Taeler rakes her eyes. She then hits her finisher, a sweeping faceplant, for 3. WINNER: TAELER by pinfall. MY TAKE: Taeler continues to prove her status as future #1 contender.

The Coalition's Jason Wayne (w/Crimson & Ghillie) vs. "The Welsh Colossus" Rob Terry. Wayne makes the referee check Terry saying he is hiding WMD's. Once they finally lock up, Terry shoves Wayne into the corner. Wayne kicks Terry and goes to throw him off the ropes, but Terry reverses and clotheslines him. He hits some big forearms in the corner and stomps him. He throws Wayne off the ropes and hits a big shoulder block. Wayne rolls out and takes a breather with Crimson. He finally gets back in and Terry catches a kick. He shoves Wayne's leg down and Wayn falls on his face. He launches Wayne across the ring with a giant hip toss. He then throws him head first off the top turnbuckle and hits another big shoulder tackle. Wayne rolls out and fakes an injury. As the ref checks on Wayne, Crimson hits Terry from behind with the flag pole. Wayne gets back up and shoves Terry into the ringpost and back in the ring. He works over Big Rob's arm. He mounts him and punches him, and then does the choking pushups. He puts Terry in an armbar submission. Terry gets up still in the armbar and slams Wayne down to break the hold. Terry fires rights, and throws Wayne in the corner. He splashes him and then slams him. He hits some axehandles and a clothesline. He hits a back elbow in the corner followed by a side slam. He hits a big spinebuster and goes for the pin, but Ghillie jumps in and breaks up the pin. Terry corners Ghillie, but the rest of the Coalition runs out. WINNER: TERRY by DQ. After the match, the Gutcheckers run out. Shaw brings a chair, and Silva brings a present wrapped in Hello Kitty paper. Nice choice. Silva hits Coleman with the box as Shaw swings the chair at the Coalition. The Coalition retreats as Shaw, Silva, & Big Rob are left standing tall in the ring. MY TAKE: The Coalition are no match for the Gutcheckers when they bring equalizers.

Don't forget this episode will be up online tomorrow. Also remember that every Monday night you can find the latest edition of the OVW Top 20 here on OVWmania. As always, thanks for reading!
