OVWmania Presents: OVW Top 20 (Week 10)

This is the tenth edition of the OVW Top 20 exclusively on OVWmania. With Danny Davis back in control of OVW, where do the best independent wrestling stars in the world rank this week?

#1) "SMOOTH" JOHNNY SPADE (Last Week: #1)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Heavyweight Champion

LAST MATCH: Won the OVW Heavyweight Title at SNS defeating Rob Terry.

*Spade watched 6 of the top stars in OVW battle it out this week and now knows that his next challenge comes from Jamin Olivencia, who will be gunning for his newly won OVW Heavyweight Championship.

#2) JAMIN OLIVENCIA (Last Week: #11)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Jason Wayne, Mohamad Ali Vaez, Cliff Compton, Chris Silvio, & Rob Terry in a 6-man scramble to become #1 contender for the OVW Heavyweight Title.

*Jamin made an impact this week, defeating the best of the best in OVW to become #1 contender and skyrockets back up the Top 20. Can he claim the top prize at the next SNS against Johnny Spade?

#3) MOHAMAD ALI VAEZ (Last Week: #2)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Television Champion

LAST MATCH: Eliminated in a 6-man scramble also featuring Jason Wayne, Jamin Olivencia, Cliff Compton, Chris Silvio, & Rob Terry.

*The 8-time Television Champion missed an opportunity to fight for the company's top prize, but seems to have caught the attention of the big man, Rob Terry. Is a clash between these two inevitable?

#4) THE BEST TEAM EVER: Rudy Switchblade & Jessie Godderz (Last Week: #3)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Southern Tag Team Champions

LAST MATCH: Lost to the Mascara Mafia.

*The Best Team Ever didn't live up to their name after a defeat in the first round of the Nightmare Cup to a vengeful Mascara Mafia. However, Rudy would be the first to tell you that they're still "champions!"

#5) ROB TERRY (Last Week: #4)

LAST MATCH: Eliminated in a 6-man scramble also featuring Jason Wayne, Jamin Olivencia, Cliff Compton, Chris Silvio, & Mohamad Ali Vaez.

*The big man was ganged up on by the other participants in the scramble match costing him another shot at the Heavyweight Championship. It appears that he may have his eyes on Ali and his Television Title, though, after feeling like the Family was stabbed in the back.

#6) MOOSE & MICHAEL HAYES (Last Week: #5)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Los Ben Dejos in the first round of the Nightmare Cup.

*Michael & Moose continue to make waves in the tag team division as they defeat a good team in Los Ben Dejos this week.

#7) THE MASCARA MAFIA: Paredyse & Brandon Espinosa (Last Week: #6)

LAST MATCH: Defeated the Best Team Ever in the first round of the Nightmare Cup.

*Espy & Paredyse got some revenge after losing out on the tag team titles at SNS. With a win over their rivals in the Nightmare Cup, will they get another shot to capture the gold?

#8) TONY GUNN (Last Week: #8)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Dylan Bostic.

*Tony, with help from Nick Dumeyer & Ralphie, continues to succeed in the OVW squared circle. What's next for the master of the bearhug?

#9) TAELER HENDRIX (Last Week: #9)

CURRENT TITLES: OVW Women's Champion

LAST MATCH: Defeated Epiphany at SNS to become new Women's Champion.

*Taeler was introduced to Jessie Belle this week, but wasn't too pleased to find out the chocolate she put in her mouth was chocolate-covered larvae.

#10) JASON WAYNE (Last Week: #14)

LAST MATCH: Eliminated in a 6-man scramble also featuring Rob Terry, Jamin Olivencia, Cliff Compton, Chris Silvio, & Mohamad Ali Vaez.

*The newest member of Bolin Services 2.0 came very close to getting an opportunity to go one-on-one with Johnny Spade for the OVW Heavyweight Title. It looks like him and Big Rocco will set their sights on the Nightmare Cup next.

#11) CLIFF COMPTON (Last Week: #10)

LAST MATCH: Eliminated in a 6-man scramble also featuring Jason Wayne, Jamin Olivencia, Rob Terry, Chris Silvio, & Mohamad Ali Vaez.

*Cliff continues to have issues with Chris Silvio. How long before these two go at it in the ring one-on-one to settle their differences?

#12) CHRIS SILVIO (Last Week: #12)

LAST MATCH: Eliminated in a 6-man scramble also featuring Jason Wayne, Jamin Olivencia, Cliff Compton, Rob Terry, & Mohamad Ali Vaez.

*As stated with Cliff Compton, how long before Silvio meets up with him in a match to settle their differences? The 2 popular superstars can't get along at all.

#13) ROCCO BELLAGIO (Last Week: #16)

LAST MATCH: Eliminated by Abyss in the steel cage gauntlet at SNS.

*After mulling it over, the Top 20 decided to give Big Rocco his own spot on the list. He was impressive at SNS, eliminating Michael Hayes, Moose, & Trailer Park Trash, before losing to TNA's monster, Abyss. Next up, he & Jason Wayne will compete for the Nightmare Cup.

#14) EPIPHANY (Last Week: #13)

LAST MATCH: Lost to Taeler Hendrix at SNS.

*Epiphany was inactive this week. Will she get another opportunity for the Women's Championship, or will Jessie Belle beat her to it?

#15) "RUDO" RAUL LAMOTTA & SHILOH JONZE (Last Week: #7)

LAST MATCH: Eliminated from the Bunkhouse Battle Royal at SNS by the Assassin.

*Raul & Shiloh weren't in action this week, and many people are still questioning their allegiance to OVW.

#16) JOE COLEMAN & JACK BLACK (Last Week: #16)

LAST MATCH: Eliminated in the steel cage gauntlet match at SNS.

*Coleman & Black will represent BS 2.0 in the Nightmare Cup. Can this duo or Rocco & Jason Wayne win it all for the "Prince" Chris Bolin?

#17) ELVIS PRIDEMOORE (Last Week: NR)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Samson.

*Elvis makes his debut on the Top 20 this week after a big win in the battle royal at SNS and another victory at Wednesday's TV taping.

#18) DYLAN BOSTIC (Last Week: #17)

LAST MATCH: Lost to Tony Gunn.

*Maybe Dylan should consider just assisting Taeler. Although he left SNS with a victory, his luck overall hasn't been that great.

#19) JESSIE BELLE (Last Week: NR)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Heidi Lovelace.

*Jessie Belle made her presence known to Taeler Hendrix this past week, and may continue to if she keeps picking up wins. Could a shot at the Women's Title be in the southern belle's future?

#20) RYAN HOWE (Last Week: NR)

LAST MATCH: Defeated Donny Todd.

*This superstar who many may remember from WWE's Tough Enough picks up another win and finds himself on the Top 20. Can he keep rockin' his way up the ranks at OVW?

MISSING THE CUT:
-Nick Dumeyer
*Dumeyer has remained very helpful to Tony Gunn, but needs to do more in the ring to get back on the Top 20.

-Randy Royal
*The Double R Superstar finds himself missing the list for the first time ever this week after a week of inactivity.

KEEP AN EYE ON:
*Ted McNaler & Adam Revolver      *Street Kings      *The Assassin
*Los Ben Dejos      *Arik Kristopher

1 comment:

  1. Brian thanks for the rankings. Surprised that you finally took RR out of the rankings and equally surprised that you left Bostic in the rankings. While both are talented wrestlers, their recent OVW roles have been somewhat diminished to running interference for the ladies. Also, since at one time you put Sharpie in the Top 20, why are you not showing Josette? True, she technically is not in the ring, but does promote an impact on the results. Looking forward to your posting of tonight’s results
